People’s Party Leader discusses issue of ‘free speech’ and letting candidates express themselves with Don Martin.
Maxime Bernier, Leader of the People’s Party of Canada, recently spoke to Don Martin to discuss his views on ‘free speech vs hate speech.’
Bernier was asked about controversial statements allegedly made by some candidates, and pushed back, noting that it’s important for people to be able to express themselves, and that the government should not be adding more restrictions on free speech.
He also criticized the justice committee for striking some of Conservative MP Michael Cooper’s remarks from the official record.
